Winter 2021 Online Classes

MONDAY

Figures and Portraits in Watercolor: … take some of the mystery and fear away!

Two 5-week sessions
Instructor: Thomas Trausch
Starting with Figures, you will learn how to capture gesture... this is more important than exact proportion. Figures can be added to your paintings to animate them, tell a story, for scale, and to bring an ordinary painting to life. Groups of figures, where to place them and when the features will be added will all be covered. Portraits... basic color mixtures for flesh will be shown. The features will be addressed in depth and how to paint them in watercolor.

Class is limited to 8 students.

I will be available to help you via email during the week on all your painting projects.

WEDNESDAYS

Painting with Lisa, two 5-week sessions
Instructor: Lisa DePinto
Art is an opening, and through the magic of Zoom we’ll explore your unique artistic vision and open up to seeing the beauty of the everyday, channeling our creative energy onto canvas. Our classes will function the same as they would in person and include demonstrations as well as time to share and discuss each other’s work. Together we’ll also study the work of contemporary artists and old masters. We’ll make the most of being homebound and learn to see our interiors—as statements of the beauty of our everyday lives and all that surrounds us—through fresh, artistic eyes. Feel free to work from a personal arrangement of beloved pieces in your home or directly from a photograph or painting from an inner vision. Whatever you choose, you’ll receive plenty of instruction and encouragement along the way.

Class is limited to 8 students.
