Students transitioning from drawing to painting or just looking for a starting point to painting. Primarily working on still lifes, students will learn to build a composition and value pattern through sketch and then move to constructing a painting using water-based oil paints. In this class you will explore intaglio techniques such as etching and aquatint using zinc or copper plates, as well as relief processes on linoleum or wood. Discover the joys of printing and learn skills both modern and antique. Make prints look luscious on an assortment of papers. Students of all levels are welcome. The Path to Painting Success – Portrait Intensive

Open to all levels, this new class will introduce the elements for making representational art in the classic sense. We will cover the basics of portraiture from a construction drawing through painting the delicate values and color transitions of skin. Open Studio
Members are invited to this popular addition to our studio schedule. Come use our studio on Sunday Afternoons and work on your own projects in a relaxed, inspirational setting. No instruction, but a monitor will be available for drop-in registration. Prepay for five sessions if you prefer.
