SPRING 2018 YOUTH CLASSES
The NSAL provides a creative, nurturing environment. Research shows that participation in the arts at a young age helps children in all areas of learning.
STEAM Art in the Studio (2nd-5th grade)
Instructor: Molly Dolkart
Art and design are poised to help students grasp more complicated concepts. Students will explore optical illusions, perform artistic experiments (such as making rainbow paper and slime), and get creative with geometric patterns and tessellations inspired by artists such as M.C. Escher! All supplies included and plenty of fun!
When: 4/2- 6/4 (9 classes)

Time: 4:30 – 6:00pm
Draw, Paint, Print, Sculpt! (3rd-6th grade)
Instructor: Lillian Johnston
Student artists will explore and express as they work with a variety of two and three dimensional art materials. As they create, students will learn about the elements and principles of design, composition, and some art history while doing lots of art making.
When: 4/3- 6/5 (10 classes)
Painting & Drawing (5th-8th grade)
Instructor: Juliette Zielke
Students will gain experience with drawing methods and materials as well as explore various painting techniques. Skills will be taught and expression encouraged! Beginning, continuing and experienced students all are welcome.
When: 4/4-6/6 (9 classes)

Fashion Project (4th-8th grade)
Instructor: Katie Susko
Enjoy becoming a fashion designer. This class is for students who love fashion and want to design clothing. Students will be challenged each week with new inspirational ideas and a variety of drawing and craft materials. Figure drawing, design, color, pattern, shape and designer techniques will make this class fun and challenge you to develop new style ideas of your very own while creating your own collection. All supplies included.

Pop-Up Art Studio (K-2nd grades--ages 5-7 years)
Instructor: Susan Tecktiel
Using a variety of materials, young artists work on projects that encourage children to use their imagination as they draw, paint, sculpt, and make prints, collages and more. Each week
students will create a project inspired by a different artist.
When: 4/6- 6/8 (8 classes)

Saturday Morning Artists (2nd-6th grade)
Instructor: Jennifer Doherty
Explore the fun of drawing and painting in a variety of media. Faces, places, animals and nature--let your imagination go! This class is for students who love to draw, paint and learn new techniques.

SUMMER ART CAMP 2018
We are excited to offer our fun summer art camps again this year! Our fabulous children’s art faculty is gearing up and planning creative projects exploring many varied mediums! Campers will experience the solid traditional mediums of drawing and painting, as well as learning new techniques and being exposed to new art skills. New projects each day – no repeats!

We welcome our excellent summer art faculty! Lillian Johnston and Sara Gmitro – professional art educators are with us this summer to give your child a great art camp experience!
MORNING ART DISCOVERY CAMP (AM) Ages 5-7 years old
Campers will produce fun projects that will uncover their creativity and imagination. Using a wide variety of materials, projects will include painting, ink prints, fabric media, drawing, clay, watercolor, sculpture and much, much more.
AFTERNOON ART ADVENTURE CAMP (PM) Ages 8-11 years old
Campers will work with a variety of media and processes including painting, drawing, printing, clay and more. Create independent original artwork in a fun supportive group environment.
Cost includes all materials, a snack and unlimited fun!
