The Fine Art of Craft

Take a love for art, mix it with some creativity and a desire to make things by hand, and you have craft.  Join us as we explore from a variety of rich traditions: book-making, mosaics, basket-weaving, batik, beading, felting, paper-maché, etc.   Students will be exposed to the history behind the crafting traditions we undertake - while having the fun and satisfaction of making something by hand. Returning students can be assured of all new projects!

Draw, Paint, Print, Sculpt!   (3rd-6th grade)

For either new or continuing students - new projects are always guaranteed! Artists will explore and express as they work with a variety of two and three dimensional art materials. As they create, students will learn about the elements and principles of design, composition, and some art history while doing lots of fun art making.

Enjoy becoming a fashion designer.  This class is for students who love fashion and want to design clothing.  Students will be challenged each week with new inspirational ideas and a variety of drawing materials.  Figure drawing, design, color, pattern, shape and designer techniques will make this class fun and challenge you to develop new style ideas of your very own while  creating  your own collection. Pop-Up Art Studio (K-2nd grades--ages 5-7 years)

Winter Weaving Workshopall supplies included!

Instructor: Jennifer Doherty

Spend two cold afternoons making a one-of-a-kind woven pouch with lots of warm fibers! Students will enjoy learning how to prepare a loom for weaving. Then, make your color and texture selections from a wide variety of yarns, ribbons and other materials that will be woven into a useful pouch/bag. Students will complete this project using weaving methods that are both traditional and non-traditional. No experience necessary, just a love for color, fibers, and learning new ways of making art. Students must attend both sessions for the completion of this project. All supplies included!
