Art FUNdamentals (3rd-6th grade)


Nancy Behles

Color, line, texture, form and repetition–these are the basic concepts on which all art is based. Students will learn to identify and manipulate these principles while creating beautiful compositions in a variety of media.

TUESDAY

 

Painting and Drawing (5th-8th grade)

Victoria Nelson
Come and paint in a fun and nurturing atmosphere for students of all levels of experience and abilities. Using acrylic paint, students will experiment and learn how to plan, develop and create a finished piece. Students will start with sketching and advance to painting.
When: 9/21-12/14 (13 classes)

Fashion Project (6th-12th grade)

Christina Lovering
Learn to draw the world of fashion and design your own line of clothing like the designers on Project Runway. This class is dedicated to drawing and designing through the wor;d of fashion. It is not a construction class( there wil be no sewing), but drawing and design are an important step to becoming a fashion designer. Students in this class will learn how to draw the fashion figure and use many different media to develop their own style through their work.
When: 9/23-12/16 (11 classes) No class: 10/21 & 11/25

FRIDAY

 

Talented Tots… and Their Moms!

Ages 2 ½ to 4 year olds
Explore painting, printing, sculpture and more! Come mix it up-try new materials and meet new friends! Explore art through playful imagining and experiment with materials to see what happens. Please attend only with the child who is enrolled in the class to ensure the best experience for both child and adult. Limit 8.
When: 9/24-12/17 (11 classes) No class: 10/22 & 11/26

Art Abounds (1st & 2nd grade)

Using a variety of materials, young artists work on projects that encourage children to use their imagination while learning about color, textures, paint skills and the use of materials. Each class features a new art adventure as they draw, paint, sculpt, and make prints, collages and more.
When: 9/24-12/17 (11 classes) No class: 10/22 & 11/26

SATURDAY

 

Clay Animation & Cartoons (3rd-7th grade)

Patrick Waldron
Working with an expert instructor, students begin by making a short detailed storyboard of their film. Then, step by step; students make characters, props and sets using plasticine clay, Sculpy, cardboard, markers, paint or other media. Video production begins as early as the first day and continues throughout the term. Sound, music and special effects (lasers, words, explosions, and lip-syncing) are added during editing. This class is a must for any movie-minded child.
